Matty changing pad wins international design award.

The award is exclusively given to pioneers who contribute to the German and international design scene, and according to the expert jury, which consists of 46 specialists, Matty won the prize for its unique, sleek, and practical design – in the "Baby and Child Care" category.

"Matty is a unique, practical, and simple changing pad. It is water-resistant and does not require extra covers. The combination of a non-slip base and high sides makes it safe and useful for parents and can be used anywhere."

– as stated in the jury's justification (own translation, editor’s note). The changing pad is cast in flexible PUR, which is perfect for baby equipment, furniture components, and rehabilitation products due to its silky soft texture, making it highly suitable for parts that come into contact with the user. The surface is coated with a two-component lacquer, making the material water-resistant and easy to clean. The surface is colorfast and highly UV-resistant. The design possibilities with flexible PUR are endless, and the material can be dyed in a wide range of modern colors. Plus, it is free from phthalates!

At Tinby, there is great joy that Leander has caught the attention of the Design Council, whose evaluation committee consists of prominent figures in architecture and design.

The market has responded very positively to Matty, which is made from a high-quality material that hasn't been seen before in the changing pad market. As the supplier of the excellent Flex-PUR that the changing pad is made of, we naturally hope that others, apart from the jury, will recognize the many design possibilities the material offers," says Tinby's sales engineer Michael Lind.

The design award is a great recognition that can also help Tinby open many doors in international markets. So, we are of course very pleased with the indirect recognition of our work, which is also reflected in Leander's award reception," concludes Michael Lind.

Tinby Skumplast's polyurethane foam panels are used for insulation in refrigerated and freezer trucks, containers, and other transportation units due to the material's low weight and high compressive strength. Our goal is to reach potential customers and showcase our capabilities at the exhibition.

PURfection: New Danish-developed technology aims to create a circular solution for a widely used plastic type.

Polyurethane – also known as PUR – is used in everything from refrigerators, shoes, and mattresses to wind turbine blades and cars. This versatile plastic type makes up eight percent of global plastic production but is very difficult to recycle. Now, a number of large companies and knowledge partners are joining forces to make used PUR plastic recyclable, so it can replace fossil-based polyurethane.
