Low-energy houses since 1965

Since 1965, Dansk Ejendom A/S has built more than 3,000 Holm Houses throughout Denmark. Holm Houses are low-energy homes meeting the strictest building regulations, constructed from quality materials requiring minimal maintenance. Tinby produces highly insulating PIR foam panels for Holm Houses' patented ISO-KON+ Element System.

About the product
The PIR foam panels used as insulation material in Holm Houses’ façade elements are prefabricated at Tinby’s factory at Sunekær in Søndersø and delivered in custom dimensions tailored to each specific building project.

The PIR foam is formulated from a specialized recipe incorporating flame-retardant and self-extinguishing chemicals. This formulation creates a cellular foam material encapsulating an insulating gas, making the finished façade elements resistant to air infiltration similar to mineral wool.

The insulating effect remains enclosed within the cells throughout the product's lifespan. With a thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/mK, Holm Houses achieve their hallmark energy efficiency using a significantly thinner insulation layer than comparable solutions.

What the client has to say

“PIR foam is the perfect choice of insulation material for our energy-efficient homes. We achieve a U-value of 0.08 W/mK, ensuring the material meets future insulation requirements and makes it easy to attain an A20 energy rating without relying on technical equipment.”
