Green Building at Forum

The Building Green trade fair at Forum in Copenhagen has kicked off today, and Tinby A/S is present at the PUR section stand.

PUR/PIR Has a Low Lambda Value

Here, we are ready to share information about PUR/PIR’s low lambda values and low CO2 emissions. In the field of construction technology, PUR and PIR are increasingly being used for insulation, particularly in facades.

Tinby Skumplast A/S has been producing insulation boards, insulation blocks, and sandwich panels for more than 40 years, which are used as insulating cores in load-bearing building elements.

The PUR Section Expects Great Interest in Plastic Insulation

Rasmus Grusgaard, who represents the PUR section, expects great interest in knowledge about plastic insulation.

"All types of insulation can help improve a building’s energy efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions. PUR/PIR simply does it with a very high level of energy efficiency, which is particularly relevant in light of the stricter energy requirements in BR20. That’s why I believe we will see growing interest in learning more about cellular plastic insulation in construction moving forward. I also expect this to be reflected during Building Green, just as in previous years," says Rasmus Grusgaard.

At the stand, fact sheets with additional information about the new environmental product declarations are being distributed.

The European organization PU Europe is also a cooperation partner in relation to the PUR section's participation in the trade fair.

You can find Tinby and Tinby Skumplast at stand no. 49.

Tinby Skumplast's polyurethane foam panels are used for insulation in refrigerated and freezer trucks, containers, and other transportation units due to the material's low weight and high compressive strength. Our goal is to reach potential customers and showcase our capabilities at the exhibition.

PURfection: New Danish-developed technology aims to create a circular solution for a widely used plastic type.

Polyurethane – also known as PUR – is used in everything from refrigerators, shoes, and mattresses to wind turbine blades and cars. This versatile plastic type makes up eight percent of global plastic production but is very difficult to recycle. Now, a number of large companies and knowledge partners are joining forces to make used PUR plastic recyclable, so it can replace fossil-based polyurethane.

Tinby x Plastic Pavilion 2023

Tinby is exhibiting at the Plastic Pavilion 2023 at the UIA World Congress of Architects in Copenhagen. Together with our sister companies, we are highlighting the importance of the indispensable properties of plastic and the role they play in building, creating, and shaping a greener future.

Tinby Skumplast A/S and Tinby A/S will merge as of June 21, 2022.

Tinby Skumplast A/S moved from Tjæreborg to Søndersø in early 2021, where Tinby A/S is located. Michael V. Therkelsen, who is the CEO of Tinby A/S, still holds the overall responsibility for the Tinby Group, including the former Tinby Skumplast A/S. Kim Holm Hansen continues to be responsible for the daily operations at Sunekær.
